lyrics

Living in a village from out of the way -
a story that you might have heard from some other day -
was a girl who lived life as she thought that it was
and would never express all the things she had to say

Meanwhile at her side was a timid young man
Entitled at birth that she'd be receiving his hand
And although he was madly in love
He could never accept it if she took it only from demand

"Even if things could be different from now,
would you want to stay here with me?"
- that was what he said, but
she answered naively, not thinking too much,
"Isn't that how it always will be?"

Always unable to read what she was thinking
though all that he wanted was her reply
And she wouldn't talk about the things on her mind
despite all of the things that he did to try

He didn't want her to blindly play along
if he weren't a person she wanted there
but he couldn't know what she had wanted
and it was too much for his reticent words to bear

Days were passing by and still nothing begun
His confidence shaken and all his options undone
For his spirit was never enough to just say it right out
And his worries had brought him down to none

"Even if things could be different from now,
would you want to stay here with me?"
- that was what he said, but
she smiled on cheerfully just as before
"I can't think of any reason not to be..."

Knowing that nothing was going bad at all
The uncertainty still couldn't satisfy
And passive acceptance made him feel rather guilty
if she went along without knowing why

Repeating, repeating those vaguely spoken words
In a stasis that never went anywhere
And soon he was running out of time to do something
As nervousness slowly became despair

Spring had arrived and an annual festival
gave him the chance he was waiting for
But unrefined words led to failing attempts
and were left to the mercy of feelings stored

"I've always had only one wish from the start,
that you'd know what I wanted to give to you,
and even if you want to turn me away
then at least I'd be happier that you knew"

All of the ways in that spoken word had failed
couldn't ever compare to a passioned heart
And after she heard him on that day,
there was never a way she would let them be torn apart

Taking his hands in the softly rising moonlight
she danced with him all while the night was there
For all of his worries laid to rest, it was doubtless
that everything else was for them to share
